Doom Eternal has the best so opening weekend in the series.

The latest installment in the Doom series has finally hit the shelfs. After a two year wait period since it’s announcement at E3 2018, Doom Eternal has been highly anticipated by fans. Doom has been a classic FPS for years and fans were overjoyed when it was rebooted in 2016. The reboot was meet with critical praise and preformed extremely well for Bethesda, so it only made since that it would get a sequel. While the company has not specified on the exact number, they have said Eternal has doubled the opening sales of Doom 2016, making it have the best opening weekend in the series.

Sony says over 4,000 PS4 titles will be playable on PS5

After the recent “Road to PS5” video presentation, there was some confusion regarding how backwards compatibility will be presented on the launch of the PS5. Many Playstation fans have been eagerly waiting on information with backwards compatibility ever since it was announced for the PS5. Backwards compatibility has been a feature that fans have been asking Playstation to have for years. It allows players to play games from previous generation consoles with the current generation consoles. With this new feature now implemented, Sony has confirmed that players will now be able to play over 4,000 PS4 games on the PS5f from the latest blog post.

Konami says no new Silent Hill game despite rumors

Over the last couple of days rumors have spreading around about the cult classic horror game, Silent Hill, coming back to life. Particularly, regarding the rumors about how Sony buying the rights to series along with other Konami IPs such Castlevania and Metal Gear Solid. Unfortunately, those rumors ended up leading no where as Konami made a statement just yesterday saying that they are aware of the rumors and claimed that they are not true.

However they did say that any further use of the franchise is not completely off the table, just not in the way people are thinking.

E3 canceled due to COVID-19.

Every year E3 has always made its presence to the gaming community. It has always been a time for the community to look forward to for new game announcements and reveals. Now for the first time ever, E3 has been canceled. Due to increasing concerns of the recent spread of the corona virus, the ESA made the decision to cancel E3. It’s clear that they had made this decision by following the advice of many heath officials and authorities about avoiding large gatherings. However, even though E3 has been canceled many other game companies are learning to adjust to this change buy making “digital experiences to announce their reveals.

Final Fantasy VII Remake will be “very dense”

With Final Fantasy right around the corner many people have been expressing their concerns regarding the games size in content. The remake is said the be made into multiple parts and is being treated like a saga. With this in mind fans believe that the remake will be choppy and lacking in content. However the Director, Tetsuya Nomura, says there is nothing to worry about, and even says the game is very dense in size. He claims that game has hours of content and Midgar is much larger than the original game depicted it as. He says that he’s confident that fans will be satisfied with the game and he hopes that they look forward to it.

Next gen consoles could be delayed due to COVID-19

The coronavirus has sent many people into a panic lately. Many people are afraid to leave their homes and go to their jobs. It’s no surprise that this would have large economic consequences mostly due to the large cases of coronavirus in China, where many US companies use for their manufacturing. Sony and Microsoft are two of many such companies where many of their products are produced in China as well. With this case, Daniel Ahmad believes that the next generation of consoles could be pushed back to a later year if the situation in China is not somehow contained within the next few months. The Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X are set to release this holiday season but this pandemic could possibly change that.

Death Stranding comes to the PC

When it was first revealed, Death Stranding was said to be a playstation exclusive title made by Kojima Productions. Now that no longer seems the case as it has been recently revealed that this game now also be coming the PC. The PC port will release on June 2 and will come with an exclusive photo mode feature that wasn’t present in the PS4 version. As it stands now their is no word on whether this game will also release on the Xbox as well.

Resident Evil 3 gets a demo

On February 25 it was revealed that Resident Evil 3 will be getting is own public demo for the fans to try out. After the massive success of Capcom’s Resident Evil 2 remake, a remake of another of their classic titles felt almost natural. Sure enough Capcom has gone ahead and remade Resident Evil 3. The game will also be made on the RE engine and will no doubt contain similar features and assets that Resident Evil 2 had.

Capcom has stated that details on the demo will come at a later date.

Smash Bros gets a competitive circuit

Ever since the release of Super Smash Bros Melee, many fans have try to make the Smash series a real competitive fighting game. However, smash was never intentionally designed to be as such. In fact, the creator of smash himself has even questioned whether Smash could be considered a fighting game. For this very reason, it is believed that Nintendo never acknowledges the competitive scene of Smash because they don’t want it to be treated as a fighting game. Nintendo has been notorious for interfering with players from creating competitive tournaments that have a large budget and prize pool money. They’ve even goes as so far as to stop other third parties from investing in the smash esports such as RedBull and Twitch.

Now after many years of dealing with low prize pools in tournaments, Smash will finally be getting its own world tour circuit. With the help of VGbootcamp and Smash Con, the Smash community has put together a grassroots championship tournament with a prize pool of $250K.

Final Fantasy VII Remake gets a public demo

On March 3rd it was announced by the official Final Fantasy VII Remake twitter page that the public would receive a demo to download and play on their PS4. Since gameplay was first shown off at E3 2019, fans have only been able to play the demo at specific events. Now fans of Final Fantasy VII can try the demo if they want right at their home. The demo is roughly around an hour long and covers only the first bombing run, afterwards the demo ask which version of the game you like to preorder.
