In the mist of the pandemic more events and plans have been cancelled or delayed left and right. So it should be no surprise to anyone that Evo was cancelled. Evo is a worldwide fighting game tournament that is usual set in Las Vegas during August every year. But with the global pandemic that doesn’t seem to be the case. Instead, the staff behind the worldwide tournaments has decided that they are going to preform some kind of “online event”. They have not specified on what this means for the tournaments as they said that they will reveal more information at a later date. Many professional players have stated that Evo should be cancelled entirely, as they believe that multiple tournaments running on in house wifi simultaneously could hinder their performance, the staff of Evo has not made a comment on this either.
Nier Replicant is more than just a “remaster”
Since the reveal that Nier Replicant will be getting a remaster last month. Fans have been eager for more information on the game. This month, the developers a Square Enix have released more information regarding that game of them stating things like “Its more than just a remaster”. The game is said to have new additional content, new music and extended songs, and quality of life gameplay improvements. All of this is what the developers are hoping for fans to be excited about, and as of right now their is still now release date on the project but they hope to release it soon this year if possible.
The Last Of Us II new release is June 19
Due to the Covid-19 outbreak Naughty Dog was forced to delay their latest game, The Last of Us II, indefinitely. This was because of the companies economic concerns relating to retail stores shutting down and shipping distribution being slowed to a halt. However, after a massive leak of the game’s story and development process, Naughty Dog hand was forced and a new release date for the game was set for June 19. The developers have sent a message that they are heartbroken by the news that their game was leaked but hopes that the fans will still be able to enjoy it regardless.
Final Fantasy VII Remake sells 3.5million copies in 3 days.
After the very long wait since the reveal in 2015, Final Fantasy VII Remake is now available worldwide. In just three days of its release it has already sold over three million copies making it one of the fastest selling Final Fantasy titles in years. The game has also been meet with critical praise with it receiving a 88 score on metacritic. As of right now the game is still slated as a timed PS4 exclusive until April 2021, which is assumed to be the release date of the Xbox and PC version.
Platinum Games has one more special announcement.
Since last year Platinum Games has reveled 3 of the total 4 in house projects that they intend on making. Just a few weeks ago they stated that their last announcement would be revealed on April 1. However that was just an April Fools joke and nothing was announced…but then just recently Platinum Games has confirmed to actually have one more announcement that they have yet to show. There is no word on when this announcement will take place though.
The Last Of Us 2 delayed due to COVID-19
With the pandemic growing worse by the day, the gaming industry continues to be effected. Just recently, Naughty Dog confirmed that the highly anticipated The Last Of Us 2 has been delayed indefinitely. They have stated that most of the game is actual complete with just a few minor things left to tweak left to do. The problem are the logistics that are out of their control given the currant state of the world. With economic world plundering they have realized that it would not be wise to release the game as of now. They have stated that they want all of their fans to be able to play and that just would be possible with the pandemic. They have not stated on when they intend for the game to come out now.
Final Fantasy Remake shipped early to Europe and Australia.
Due to the current global pandemic it should be no surprise at how it affecting the gaming industry. Many up coming game shipments are being delayed as many shipping and distributing companies are prioritizing essential products to be delivered to people. With this taking place Square Enix have decided to speed up their shipment of Final Fantasy VII Remake in Europe and Australia as they feared that players in those continents would not receive their copies of the game on time. With this in mind, Square has asked players to be mindful of spoilers as some people will receive their copies of the game before others.
RUMOR: Super Mario collection is planed for the Switch.
For many years fans have considered the 3D platform Mario games to be some the best games that Nintendo has ever made. The only problem is that a lot of them are stuck on older generation consoles that many people no longer have. For years fan have been asking Nintendo to make some kind of collection of the older 3D Mario games for fans to enjoy with no success of it happening. Now however, it seems like people’s dreams might come true as it is currently being rumored that Nintendo plans to release an HD collection of 3D Mario games to the Nintendo Switch. Games such as Mario 64, Sunshine and Galaxy are all rumored to be included in this collection along with a brand new Paper Mario game. Various reliable sources are been backing up this rumor like Eurogamer and Gematsu.
NieR Replicant Remaster has been announced.
On the 10th anniversary of the NieR franchise Square Enix has announced that a remaster of the first game, NieR Replicant, will be coming to modern generation console. The game original came out on Playstation 3 and unfortunately went under the radar for most people. The people who did play it criticized it for having various performance problems. Due to this many people have requested for it to be remastered and ported on the current generation of consoles in order for these issues to be fixed. Now after 10 years since the game released it’s coming backed in a newer “advanced” version on the Playstation 4, Xbox one, and PC. Square Enix has not yet confirmed the games official released date but they due hope to try to release it this year since it is the anniversary.
Xenoblade chronicles definitive edition come May 29.
After only just a few months of silence with it only just being announced on September, the Xenoblade Chronicles HD remaster has finally received a released date. Xenoblade has been highly praised as a wonderful JRPG filled with great characters and story. With Xenoblade now being put on a console with much better hardware than the Wii the developers have now been able to make the graphics better than they’ve ever been. The game is set to arrive on May 29 2020, however Nintendo has stated that is could be set to change due to the current COVID-19 pandemic.
